Chef Mehdi is a well-known name in the culinary industry of Pakistan. He is a specialized chef from Lenoter School and has had wide-ranging experience of more than 25 years in different culinary organizations together locally and globally. Mehdi has been managing his outlet Desserts which focuses in mouth-watering sweets and entire bakery items for the last 10 years. At present he also comes into view in a daily live cooking show “Dastarkhuwan” on Zaiqa TV - one of the prime names in Pakistan as he is renowned for his culinary, principally in Dessert.
He belonged to a middle class family in Karachi, from where he accomplished his early education and completed graduation in 1976. He started doing job in Pearl Continental Hotels in 1979 then immediately was offered a job in Abu Dhabi. His major participation was in the vegetables section of the industry in Abu Dhabi. He served in various hotel chains namely Novotel, Sofitel and Marcue for the next 20 years. When he returned to Pakistan he started his own bakery Desserts which is famous for its delicious pastries, mouth-watering cakes and western sweets items.
His biggest achievements include: In 1987 Mehdi was awarded a silver medal in his progress of making sugar tree which took him one month to complete. In 1989 he was awarded the bronze medal for best decoration and theme in making wedding cakes which took him one week for completion.
